Illinois Citizens for Life (ICL) is a non-profit organization established in 1973. Its sole purpose is to defend human life at all ages, from conception to natural death. Through social work, education and lobbying, ICL works to secure the principle that all human beings are legal persons at every stage of biological development from conception to natural death, and as such, are entitled to the basic human right to life, irrespective of age, health, function, or condition of dependency.

ICL strongly opposes any use of violence as a means of stopping the violence that has killed more than 44 million unborn children since the Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision of 1973. ICL believes in peaceful, legal activities to protect human lives threatened by abortion, infanticide and euthanasia. ICL opposes any form of violence to fight the violence of abortion.
